Attensity Group to buy Biz360

Social CRM firm Attensity Group announced on April 28 it will acquire social media monitoring firm Biz360. The deal, for which financial terms were not released, is expected to close in 10 days.

Attensity said in a statement that Biz360′s staff will be integrated into Attensity. Biz360′s president and CEO, Brad Brodigan, will join Attensity as SVP and general manager.

Three business intelligence and data companies – Attensity Corp., Empolis GmbH and Living-e AG – merged in April 2009 to form Attensity Group.

MasterCard launches e-commerce site for cardholders

Financial services giant MasterCard has partnered with e-commerce company NextJump to create the MasterCard Marketplace, an e-commerce site featuring discounts for MasterCard members.

Smart marketing: Prospect your prospects not your customers

According to a recent survey by Chief Marketer, two-thirds of companies will use e-mail to prospect and uncover new sales leads in 2010. This is no real surprise given e-mail’s unmatched ROI and targeting capabilities. What I wonder is how many of these companies and their agencies will actually remember to scrub out their customer lists before launching their prospecting efforts?
